For my last “Wedding Photography Year in Review,” I chose to focus on the lesser seen moments during weddings. This year I want to expand on that to include some of the peripheral scenes and sub-plots that surround weddings. Weddings offer the perfect opportunities to observe new friends meeting for the first time, old friends reconnecting for the first time in a long time, or non-friends hanging out together. Your wedding may be the only time in history where all of the people you know and love will all be together.
2017 was a great year for weddings, full of new challenges and new friends. This year I photographed weddings in Telluride, Ouray, Grand Junction, Ridgway and Montrose. I saw great new venues like The Lark and Sparrow, and old classics like the Beaumont Hotel and Peaks Resort. I got to reconnect with one of my old middle school teachers who happened to be a father of the groom. And I started working with some awesome second shooters and assistants. Julie Barton helped me with a large wedding in Montrose and some of her work can be seen in this collection. Jim Cox asked for my assistance in photographing a wedding in a Grand Junction church with tricky lighting. Keep an eye out for him as you look through the gallery! I also traveled to Denver for a fun family engagement session for a couple that will wed in Palisade in 2018.
Most of all, I am eternally grateful for all of my clients that invited me into their lives to document their big day. I truly enjoyed working with each and every one of you and I look forward to working with all of my 2018 couples!
