I am always happy to help out friends and fellow photographers and that is exactly what I did when my ski school buddy Jim Cox called me the day before Nicole and Keaton’s wedding. Jim was concerned about the lighting inside the First United Methodist Church in Grand Junction and he had been asked not to use a flash during the ceremony.
Now I had never been to this church but I figured that it couldn’t be any darker that the reception hall for my last wedding so I agreed to do it last minute. As it turned out I was pleasantly surprised by the high-quality ambient light that streamed in from the many intricate stained glass windows. I took the lead for the ceremony and Jim continued in a second-shooter capacity and handled the reception. I was very happy to be able to lend a hand and grateful that Nicole and Keaton got some great photos of their ceremony.
